At Encore Painting, we take pride in our work and strive to make a positive impact in our community. That’s why we were thrilled to partner with Make-A-Wish Canada and Benjamin Moore for a special interior painting project in Toronto – a bedroom makeover for a 10-year-old boy.
It’s one of our most heartwarming projects to date, and we are excited to share the details with you.
The Inspiration Behind the Project
We were inspired by the mission of Make-A-Wish Canada, which is to grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses. When we heard about a 10-year-old boy who wished for a space-themed bedroom, we knew we had to be a part of making that wish come true. It’s a small gesture, but we believe that creating a special space for this young boy would bring joy and comfort. There’s really something special about having a place to call your own, and we wanted to give him just that.
Bringing the Dream to Life
To bring the space-themed bedroom dream to life, we teamed up with our friends at Benjamin Moore, who generously donated the paints for the project. We also worked with celebrity designer Jo Alcon who came up with the perfect concept for the bedroom makeover.
The main colour used for the walls was “Smoke” – a soft, neutral shade that gave the room a calm and tranquil feel. The accent wall was painted in “Van Duesen Blue”, a bold and vibrant blue that represented the vastness of space. Together, these colours created a perfect balance between serenity and adventure.
In addition to these awesome colour choices, some special touches were added to the room to make it truly out of this world (pun intended). A custom-made rocket-shaped bed, hanging planets, and hand painted galaxy-themed murals completed the space transformation.
