It’s time for our third painter feature here at Encore Painting. So, without further ado, let’s introduce Ben. Originating from the sunny and warm Venezuela, Ben has been painting with Encore Painting for over 10 years – the longest of all painters with us.
Before joining the team here at Encore, Ben began painting with a friend and took an immediate interest in the craft. Shortly after, Ben knew that he wanted to pursue painting professionally and hasn’t looked back since. Ben finds staining decks the most interesting and he loves bringing old wood back to life. There’s just something about wood restoration and repair that excites Ben.
An important piece of advice Ben would give to new and upcoming painters is that prep is key and to never underestimate the power of patience. “A great paint job benefits everyone; it requires patience, understanding of the craft, and dedication,” notes Ben. He also notes that the most rewarding thing about being a professional painter is seeing the face of a client after the home painting transformation is complete.
Ben also loves to provide his expert advice to homeowners seeking a new paint job.
“When people find out I’m a house painter, they usually ask me for advice as to what colour they should choose to paint their home. My answer is always that it depends on the area, lighting, furniture, and of course, the client’s aesthetic style,” says Ben. Ben’s favourite colour to paint is black, as he finds it versatile, classy and timeless.
Living in Toronto excites Ben and he thrives off the city’s diversity and multiculturalism. In his spare time, Ben enjoys playing the bass guitar, piano, conga as well as signing aloud. Music is also what helps him get through uncertain times – like the ones we are experiencing today – with positivity and light. He also noted how grateful he is to be healthy and able to continue doing what he loves – painting homes in Toronto.
